China's grain and cotton imports were announced in 2012.

It shows that 1-7 months of this year, Ningbo Port imported 21 thousand tons of cotton, 51.6% less than the same period last year, and the import amount was 74 million 170 thousand US dollars, down 0.6%.

In terms of unit price, the average import price is 3535 US dollars per ton, 1.1 times higher than the same period last year, and also higher than domestic cotton price.

The high price is an important reason for the rapid reduction in the number of imported cotton since the first half of the year.

Forecast

Data show that domestic cotton production in 2011/12 is expected to reach 7 million 403 thousand tons, consumption is 10 million 15 thousand tons, and domestic gap is about 2 million 600 thousand tons.

However, consumption in the downstream market has not been improved, and the contradiction between supply and demand is hard to become a market again in the environment of high yield of cotton in the world.
