Paraguay Raises The Protective Tariffs On Clothing And Footwear To The South Korean Communist Market

According to the Brazil government, Paraguay has agreed to raise tariffs on clothing and footwear products imported from non common market countries to 35%.

According to the Brazil news agency, after negotiations, Brazil and Paraguay reached an agreement in Brasilia.

The news agency quoted Miguel Jorge, Minister of development, industry and foreign trade of Brazil, as saying to the press: "Paraguay has agreed to Brazil's proposal to increase import tariffs on clothing and footwear from 25% to 35%."

At the same time, Emilio Jimenez, Vice Minister of economic relations and integration of Paraguay, said: "in view of the position of Paraguay's private enterprises, the government supports Brazil's proposal to raise the common external tariffs on footwear and clothing."

However, Jimenez said that Paraguay only agreed to raise common tariffs on imports of clothing and footwear, while no protective tariffs were imposed on textiles and yarns.
